A Special Time
Throughout their lives, a mother fills many roles for her children. The assistance and support that she provides don’t stop once a wedding day approaches. In fact, the mother of the bride is responsible for many of the tasks it takes to make the wedding planning go smoothly. From assisting with the guest list to welcoming guests at the reception, the mother of the bride has a way of making sure everything works out beautifully.
Shopping for the Gown
One of the most cherished jobs that belong to the mother of the bride is to accompany her daughter when shopping for the all-important wedding gown. As one of the very few people who gets the chance to see the bride before the ceremony, mom has a special privilege and bond with her daughter. Mom will also help to pick out accessories, collect “something borrowed, old and blue”, and be the one with her daughter as she dresses for the wedding.
The Big Day
On the big day, Mom has ceremonial and traditional Mother of the Bride duties as well... she is the last to be seated, signaling the beginning of the wedding; she greets guests at the reception, and she dances the traditional dance with her husband or escort. In more modern weddings, Moms will also dance with their daughter if a father was not present.
Weddings are a roller coaster of joy and chaos. Chances are your bride is going to be overwhelmed and need a shoulder to cry on at some point during the planning. Luckily, this role is the easiest one for the mother of the bride to take on. Because above all else, your main job is the one you already have… Mom.
Even with Mom's help before and on your big day, having a wedding consultant could be one of your best decisions.
